Film Experience || One Misstep, You're Mine
I had really wanted to make another film with horror, mad or creepy elements to it and I thought what better song to make a video to than 'Monsters' by Ruelle. I've had the song stuck in my head for weeks and decided it was time to put it to a video.

Film Experience - Handmaid's Tale Documentary
In English, we have been studying 'The Handmaid's Tale' and were recently challenged with making a documentary on the traditions and life in Gilead, the fictional city in which the novel is based. After a lot of research, stress and experimenting with my new editing software this is the final product.

Film Experience - See What We're Made Of
So this is probably the last video I will ever edit on iMovie. Over the Christmas period I purchased Final Cut Pro which is extremely advanced. It's taking me ages to adjust to all the weird controls but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. It's a tad annoying that I'd just figured my way around iMovie and now I'm having to figure out a whole new system but I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.
I made this video a couple of weeks ago and this time I tried to add some voiceovers in it. Adding the voiceovers was a lot more complicated than I had originally thought it would be, having to enhance the voiceover instead of having the software focus on the music as well as actually have the voiceovers match the video (that is key).
I used a song called 'The Scorch' by the YouTuber Shelby Merry - who has a written a selection of songs for the Maze Runner series, being a fan of the book series by James Dashner. Director Wes Ball of the Maze Runner films has apparently considered using her songs but has not yet used any.
Hope you enjoyed this video and I hope these videos are improving my video editing ability...

Film Experience || Media Assembly
Today our school hosted a media assembly for years seven all the way up to sixth form. The media team quickly put together a video for the assembly to portray what we do around the school to do with media. It was tremendous fun to make having filmed a minute portion of the footage the day before and using our previous productions as examples. Overall it turned out amazingly!
Well done to everyone who helped us give the assembly and thank you to Katriona and Mrs Williams for helping Harriet and myself put this video together!

Film Experience || Howl
So I was back using iMovie this weekend and decided to finish one of my videos which has taken a long time to finish (considering the fact that I started it at the beginning of November). This was supposed to also be a creepy video - a lot like 'Dystopia' - and I think achieved that by using a small supply of clips from different films.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Film Experience || Sail
Anyone who has seen my blog will know that I am a big fan of the Maze Runner series and what better way for me to show that than to make a video for it. I'm learning new things on editing with iMovie every time I use it and hopefully will be getting some more new editing software soon! Compared to my other videos this probably seems quite short but it took a while to edit. I put a layer over the top of this (like I did in my previous video 'Dystopia') which can be read as:
LVL 8 WCKD PERSONNEL ONLY
MISSION DEBRIEFING
I hope that you enjoy the video!

Film Experience || Media Team
As part of the media crew at school I have been helping make videos for the school.
Jess, Katriona and myself first filmed the advertisement for the school production of 'Bugsy Malone':
Next, the media team filmed and edited the amusing Children In Need video for our school's assembly to raise money. The whole of the media team filmed on this production and it was a real chance for us all to work together on a film for the first time. Jess and Katriona edited and it turned out really well:

Film Experience - Dystopia
My newest edited film!
I am still getting to grips to grips with the film editing software on my laptop but I think this is an improvement from my last one. I have put another layer over this film which you can see which I created myself from another film.
Please comment!

Film Experience || 'Change The World'
At the moment, I am currently getting to grips with using iMovie on the computer. Over the weekend I decided to experiment with some clips I had on my computer, edit them and see what happened. The final outcome looked something like this:
Overall, I'm actually very pleased with this - for my first attempt anyway!
Even though this has nothing to do with the theme of my opening sequence, I posted this on my blog to show how I am getting to grips with the new software on my laptop and to show my progress with it.

Filming Experience || Space
Earlier this week, the year five class at school started a film on the Earth's rotation and journey around the sun. I decided to go and help Mrs Williams and the other year thirteen media student's with the filming process in Junior House. It was hectic and a lot of the time one of them walked off forgetting to shine the torch on the sun or jumped a time period by forgetting to turn the Earth whilst filming.
After a lot of editing, Mrs Williams posted the video up on youtube and the outcome is something that the year fives should be pleased with.
I enjoyed helping film with the year fives - even though it was a challenge.

Experiences in Film || Editing
After I started research for my main task, I thought that I should show some of my experience within Film. I decided to start with my videos I have edited using clips from films and the internet:
1. This is the art of Performance
This was one of my early attempts and I can admit that it wasn't that good due to how quick the text disappears and it doesn't flow correctly. However that has taught me to try and get it to flow and look like it actually fits together now.
Music by: John Paesano
Words of wisdom by Darcy Bussell
2. Safe & Sound
I am a big fan of the MARVEL universe so when they created the series 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' I was very pleased. This is a fan based video I made to the song 'Safe and Sound' by Taylor Swift. In this I wanted to highlight the friendship between Daisy 'Skye' Johnson and Lincoln whilst Skye was in training with her mother.
Music by: Taylor Swift
Clips from: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
3. When the darkness comes
If you've been following my blog you'll have noticed that I love 'The Maze Runner' trilogy and when the first film came out I made this using the amazing song by Shelby Merry called 'When the Darkness Comes'; I wanted to try and tell the story of the Gladers through this video and I was very pleased with the outcome.
Music by: Shelby Merry
Clips from: The Maze Runner
4. Christmas Soldiers
I made this last Christmas and was inspired to do this due to the fact that - at the time - I was studying WWII and I recalled how they thought the war would be over by Christmas. I thought that it would be a good idea to make a video because wars still occur now and some families wouldn't be seeing their relative around the festive time because they were fighting. I can't actually remember what the song I used is called but I used clips from the film 'War Horse' due to how it was based in WWI.
Clips from: War Horse
Throughout all of these videos please excuse my awful editing skills! These were made before I upgraded my editing software.
